Salton Sea advanture

Lately I’ve come down with a bad case of wanderlust. The desire to just grab my camera and jump in my car had become pretty overwhelming. So I got together with two other photographers and we headed out to the Salton Sea.

We didn’t have a model with us so Rachele volunteered to step in front of the camera for us, even though she didn’t quite understand why we would purposely leave beautiful San Diego for a place that smelled as bad as the Salton Sea.  Luckily She trusted us.She also made sure to inform me that she had told a number of people where exactly she was going and who exactly she was with, just in case.  Trust only gets you so far ha ha.

Rachele’s trust paid off and we got some amazing images! Although I think we all need to get a tetanus shot now. Worth it!

She’s from Reno, He’s from Salt Lake City but they found love in San Diego! I had a blast with these two out of state transplants. When it came to their engagement photos they both wanted to show off their new homes best feature. So of course La Jolla Cove was a perfect fit!

The beach was fantastic but for the second half of our shoot Mary and Jon wanted a move woodsie feel. So we headed to Elfin Forest!

Kristin and Chris’s AMAZING outdoor wedding took place under the same giant oak tree where Kristin’s parents were married! It was a day so full of beautiful details that it would make any Pintrester absolutely dizzy with delight.  Special thanks to Rachele Watkins and Wendy Hanna for second shooting this one!

Kristin’s day began with a little blue box and just the right touch of sparkle…

Kristin’s awesome team of bridesmaids helped ensure that every detail was picture perfect.

After seeing Kristin for the first time with her veil in place, Kristin’s mom got a little misty eyed.  We can’t blame her!0020_WEB

Meanwhile, Chris wasn’t looking too shabby himself!

One last peak before heading off to the ceremony…

Kristin & Chris opted for a First Look before the ceremony.  We absolutely love it when couples create a special time to see each other privately before the wedding.  It makes for such a special quiet moment during what can otherwise be a blur of a day.

Kristin told us she was a big fan of Pinterest. Which is great, because her photos are going to inspire hundreds of brides after this blog post!

After the ceremony, we took a little spin around the property and Chris and Kristin rocked their portraits.  Aren’t they perfect together??

I was really exited when I got to sit down with Kristine and Anthony because right away it was very clear, this is a couple that love photography! It was a natural fit and the ideas quickly started flowing. We decided we wanted to mix things up with  San Diego classic Balboa Park and end things with some thing a bit more unique, The Salk Institute in La Jolla. It was a blast shooting with this amazing couple!

Mimi and Sujay

Mimi and Sujay celebrated their wedding with two ceremonies: a traditional Indian ceremony at the groom’s home on Saturday, followed by a more western celebration at the Wilson Creek Winery (embeded link:http://www.wilsoncreekwinery.com/) in Temecula on Sunday.

Mimi and Sujay, we were honored to be there for your special weekend.  Thank you and your families for their warmth and hospitality.  Your wedding weekend will hold a special place in our memories!

Rachele Watkins- Michael Lawrence Photography associate photographer

2013 is shaping up to be the best year yet for Michael Lawrence Photography!  A huge part of that is due to the tremendous hard work of the very talented Rachele Watkins. For the past year she has been working with me as a free lance photographer. Her skill, attention to detail and deep love of all things wedding ( and ability to keep me on my toes) has help take us to a whole new level. So  I am very excited to announce that Rachele is now officially joining the MLP team as a associate photographer! I’ll let her tell you a little about her self in her own words.

So the top 3 things you need to know about me are:

1.      I’m a newlywed who absolutely loves all things wedding. Especially the details. I looove the details.

2.      I love my husband. And I love my camera.  Just don’t make me choose, ok?

3.      I love to laugh. A lot. And I especially love it when others laugh around me and my camera!

Your wedding day should be one of the best memories of your life.  Everyone you know has gathered on this one day to support you and your spouse-to-be and to welcome the beginning of your new lives together.  I’d love to have the honor of being one of those people.  Well, me and my camera of course!

So let’s get together already!  We’re going to have a great time.  And we are probably going to laugh. A lot.

Deja and Pam’s Twin photo shoot….. San Diego Photography

Last weekend I got to help Stephanie Sherwood of Pink Chique Makeup Artist add another amazing month to her 2013 Calender to benefit Spine Project Africa.  Deja and Pam were an absolute pleasure to work with! There amazing beauty is only matched by their kind hearts, volunteering their time and talents to help our military and those in need. The only thing better then working with one of them, is working with both of them!

So many amazing weddings this month and so little time. So I decided to post a sneak peek at Candice and Darryl’s beautiful wedding at Grace Church in Oceanside.

Tyrone and Nadege sneak peek

This weekend’s wedding is so amazing I’m simply left with out the words to describe it. So I’ll let the photos do the talking until I have the time to write a proper blog post. Congratulations Tyrone and Nadege and thank you for letting me be a part of it!

Additionally it was a great honor to be in the presence of Pastor Miles McPherson of  The Rock Church as he officiated the beautiful ceremony.
